Vote For Me
Jul 11, 10:31 AM
I originally wasn’t gonna post this on the blog, but I saw, uh, certain other game developers do it. So here goes: the Austin Game Developers Conference is doing a “people’s choice” voting thing, where people rank sessions they’re likely to go to. This helps CMP pick which sessions to include. (It looks like CMP has already picked a bunch of sessions, but they haven’t finalized the lineup.)
So, you should go vote for my session. Although it does require registration on their site, it does not require you to actually purchase a pass to AGDC (which makes sense, since the lineup isn’t final yet). First, go to their voting page and then search for “metrics.” My talk is called “Gameplay Metrics for a Better Tomorrow”. Here’s the synopsis:
As the creators and caretakers of virtual worlds, we often make assumptions about our worlds based entirely on intuition. And while intuition is important, it can also be dead wrong. This session shows how the collection of gameplay metrics, when coupled with an appropriate methodology, can greatly assist in design, quality assurance, customer service, and community management.
