Open Game Metrics APIs

During my talk at AGDC, I mentioned that developers can extend the life of their products by making an API available to the general public that allows them to access a subset of gameplay metrics data.

After my talk, someone from CCP, the makers of EVE Online, told me that’s exactly what they’ve done. And check it out: they’ve got a whole API available, which, weirdly, was worked on by someone I went to college with.

So I think you might see some visualizations coming out of Orbus about EVE Online. Maybe.
